Human Resources Manager

We are seeking to appoint a highly motivated and enthusiastic Human Resources Manager to the Operations team in the Department of Oncology.

You will be a key member of the operational senior management team, responsible for the implementation of Human Resource activities to support the department’s objectives. You will be required to provide, manage and deliver a professional and effective HR service to the Department of Oncology, whilst ensuring compliance with University-wide standards and employment legislation.

Reporting to the Head of Administration and Finance, you will lead a team providing a day-to-day operational service and strategic advice to senior management. Working through five direct reports, you will be responsible for the delivery of all aspects of the HR service required by the Department of Oncology.

You will be fully CIPD qualified with significant experience in the field of human resource management as a generalist and of HR management involving a large and diverse workforce. Experience of managing a team is also essential, together with the ability to demonstrate that you can take the lead in dealing with HR issues to a satisfactory resolution, with experience in managing difficult cases.

Previous experience as an HR practitioner in NHS and University settings would be an advantage.
