You will be based in the Department of Neuroscience and will be located in the Sheffield Institute for Translational Neuroscience (SITraN). SITraN is a new research institute whose primary focus is research into neurodegenerative diseases such as motor neuron disease (MND), Parkinson’s disease and dementia.
We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced individual to join our team to provide research technical support for an exciting new project at the translational medicine interface in neurodegenerative. You will be contributing to a project investigating gene therapy approaches using viral vector methodology. You will join an internationally recognised research group in a vibrant and stimulating environment within SITraN.
You will provide dedicated research technical support to a team of postdoctoral scientists working on the project and will need to be able to demonstrate a good level of competency in the use of molecular and cellular techniques to generate viral vectors for gene therapy treatments of neurodegenerative diseases. This translational research project involves in vitro and in vivo evaluation of gene therapy strategies for neurodegenerative diseases. Previous in vivo experience work would be an advantage.
