The School of Art and Design brings together courses such as Advertising, Fashion Design, Fine Art, Graphic Design, Illustration, Interior Design, Landscape Architecture, Photography, Photography – Editorial and Advertising, Photojournalism, and Documentary Photography, as well as Visual Communication within three subject groups, Art, Design, & Photography.
The School incorporates undergraduate, postgraduate, and PhD study with excellence in teaching, research, and design for business.
The purpose of this role
Applications are sought for the position of Lecturer/Senior Lecturer as an innovation, design, and technology academic in the areas of Fashion, Knit and Surface pattern design.
We now have an outstanding opportunity for a dynamic and passionate teacher-researcher in the area of fashion/surface design to join us in achieving our strategic priorities. To be successful in your appointment you will be qualified at both undergraduate and post-graduate in Fashion Design or a relevant area, with experience in curriculum development and teaching at both under- and postgraduate level. You will have a record of research, submission, and REF rating, within the conceptual development of critical ideas and thinking within a design context; we particularly welcome applications from early career researchers and those with industry experience.
A commitment to working within the context of a team and building on the successes of the many award winning courses within the School of Art & Design is also essential.
