Fixed term for 1 year.

A new position is available in the group of Professor Sébastien Perrier to study the mechanism of self-assembly of cyclic peptide/ polymer conjugates, as part of the ERC funded research programme: Tubular Supramolecular Polymers: A new class of therapeutic polymers.

You will have completed a PhD or equivalent in Chemistry and have experience in supramolecular chemistry. You will have experience in supramolecular polymerization and the characterization of supramolecular polymers.

A strong theoretical and mechanistic understanding of supramolecular polymerization based on supramonomers, supramolecular radicals and functional supramolecular and polymeric materials is essential.

You must demonstrate the ability to work individually and as part of a team. You will have strong interpersonal and communication skills as essential for working as part of a team and forming collaborations. You will have experience of delivering projects to tight deadlines.

If you have not yet been awarded your PhD but are near submission or have recently submitted your PhD, any offers of employment will be made as Research Assistant on level 5 of the University grade structure (£28,453). Upon successful award of your PhD and evidence of this fact, you will be promoted to Research Fellow on the first point of the level 6 of the University grade structure (£29,301).
