Reader/Senior Lecturer

Job Purpose
To make a significant contribution to leading and enhancing research activity within the School of Medicine, Dentistry & Nursing (Nursing and Healthcare) To take a leading role more widely, in research programmes, within the School of Medicine, Dentistry & Nursing and Research Institutes. To contribute to the development of innovations in teaching, supervision, mentoring and knowledge transfer, in the field of nursing and health care, in collaboration with the Florence Nightingale Foundation Professor of Clinical Nursing Practice Research, the University and NHS partners. To initiate, lead and conduct original research, attracting grant funding to Nursing and Healthcare. In addition, to contribute to the development of undergraduate and postgraduate teaching within the School.

Standard Terms & Conditions
Salary will be on the University’s Research and Teaching Grade, level 9.

New entrants to the University will be required to serve a probationary period of 6 months.

The successful applicant will be eligible to join the Universities' Superannuation Scheme. Further information regarding the scheme is available from the Superannuation Officer, who is also prepared to advise on questions relating to the transfer of Superannuation benefits.

All research and related activities, including grants, donations, clinical trials, contract research, consultancy and commercialisation are required to be managed through the University’s relevant processes (e.g. contractual and financial), in accordance with the University Court.
