Assistant Professor/Associate Professor in Project Management

Center for Bachelor of Engineering Studies, DTU Diplom, have an opening for an Assistant Professor / Associate Professor. This will involve teaching (mainly in Danish) on two programmes; Technology in Project Management Diploma & Bachelor of Engineering.

The position is associated with the section for Business Development.

The educational concept is based on the CDIO (Conceive, Design, Implement, Operate) format.

DTU Diplom, Center for Bachelor of Engineering Studies is located at DTU Ballerup Campus. DTU Diplom offers Bachelor Engineering programs, Foundation Courses and Continuing Education. Teaching is project and problem based and is targeted towards business and industry.

At DTU Diplom our role is to provide education to our students, and for you, students are always central. You are professionally sharp and work with the newest technologies and knowledge via a close collaboration with DTU and industry.

Responsibilities and tasks
The job includes teaching obligations as well as supervision of students, inspiring and supporting them for their present and future career. It is important that you have knowledge of continuing education and business experience as well.

The language of teaching is Danish, however certain courses and supervision may be in English.

We are looking for colleagues with both industrial experience and teaching experience in Project Management and one or more of the following fields:

  • Agile Project Management, Lean, Six Sigma
  • Strategy
  • Portfolio Management

You must be prepared to expand your teaching competencies to meet DTU's future needs.

We expect that you hold a master’s degree and:

  • Several years of relevant work experience
  • Knowledge, experience, and expertise in Project Management
  • Knowledge and experience of Lean, Six Sigma, Strategy and Portfolio Management
  • Good organizational skills and the desire and ability to cooperate
  • Desire to take part in development projects both pedagogically and professionally and willingness to actively contribute to the development of the study program
  • Proficiency in Danish and also in English

It is an advantage if you have experience and knowledge of pedagogy and didactics. You should also be interested in being active in the development of the curriculum, actively contribute to the professional development of the program, including participation in external development and innovation projects.

In the assessment of the candidates consideration will be given to

  • experience in teaching and education (course planning)
  • dedication toward and ability to communicate
  • broad and relevant work experience
  • desire and ability to contribute to the Department's internal and external collaboration
