This is a permanent part-time contract working 18.5 hours per week

The School of Arts and Humanities delivers inspiring and supportive undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and learning; provides doctoral supervision; collaborates and engages with local, national and international industries, professions and communities, and undertakes high quality research.

The School of Arts and Humanities seeks to appoint a 0.5 Permanent Lecturer in Linguistics from 1 September 2017. Applications are sought from candidates specializing in Clinical Linguistics and Communication Disorders. Candidates will have a broad knowledge and understanding of the major subject areas within Linguistics and will be able to demonstrate experience and expertise in teaching, curriculum design and assessment in their area of specialism and across the curriculum. A commitment to teaching and learning is essential, as is the ability to work in a team-based and interdisciplinary context. The post-holder will be expected to teach to the highest standards, and to contribute to curriculum delivery and development at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels.

Applicants should have a strong research background with evidence of the ability to publish in top international journals. Research conducted in this post will be encouraged to have impact beyond academia; a clear understanding of the impact agenda of the UK research councils is highly desirable.
