The School of Geographical Sciences is a thriving and expanding school. It was established in 2009 and is supported by the School of Geography at our UK campus and the School of Environmental and Geographical Sciences at our Malaysia campus. This provides our staff and students with the opportunity to work in three very different environments, each with their own challenges. Currently, the school delivers an UG degree programme in Environmental Sciences. An MRes in Environmental Science and Engineering and an MSc in Geospatial Engineering with GIS will be offered in the near future.

Candidates must hold a PhD in a relevant discipline, have excellent research skills, supported by an established track record of high quality research outputs and major research projects. The person appointed will be expected to conduct ongoing original research for publication and play a lead role in collaborative research projects.

Experience of teaching and tutorial work in relevant subjects at undergraduate and postgraduate level in an international English-speaking institution is essential. The successful candidate will be expected to contribute to teaching and curriculum development for undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in Environmental Sciences and to supervise undergraduate dissertations.

Salary will be within the range of £49,772 -£59,400 per annum depending on skills and experience (salary progression beyond this is subject to performance). In addition, an attractive package including accommodation allowance, travel allowance and insurance will be provided for international appointments.

This post is available from beginning of 1 September 2017 or as soon as possible thereafter and will be offered on a fixed-term contract with the University of Nottingham, Ningbo, China for a period of up to five years.
