Lecturer/ Senior Lecturer in Property

Massey University - School of Economics and Finance, Massey Business School

Massey Business School, which houses the School of Economics and Finance, is looking to appoint a Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Property. In this academic position, you are expected to provide strength in teaching and research: help grow the Property programme and research capabilities in Property. You are also expected to contribute to the administration of the school, and to represent the school on Massey Business School and University committees.

The School of Economics and Finance is accredited by AACSB, Association of MBA's and is a CFA partner school. As well as offering undergraduate and postgraduate degree programmes, Property at Massey has strong links with the property-based professional bodies in New Zealand. Massey qualifications are recognised and valued by the Property Institute of New Zealand, the Real Estate Institute of New Zealand, the Valuers' Registration Board and the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors. You are expected to continue to build relationships and develop these strong ties with industry.

To be successful in appointment to this position, you will have a relevant PhD and significant evidence of University service, quality research output, student supervision and teaching excellence. You should be particularly interested in promoting the research activities of the School and given the multi-discipline nature of the school, an applicant with a background in Finance and strong ties to Property will also be considered. The School is able to offer relatively light teaching loads, strong support for research initiatives and a salary level that allows for a very comfortable lifestyle in New Zealand.

With presence across three campuses in New Zealand, it is preferred that you are based at the University's Manawatū campus, at Palmerston North http://www.massey.ac.nz/manawatu/

However, consideration will be given if you choose to be based at our Auckland campus, in Albany http://www.massey.ac.nz/albany/

Our ideal commencement date for you is November 2017.

All enquiries about this position can be directed to Associate Professor Graham Squires (g.squires@massey.ac.nz) or Professor Martin Young, Head of School of Economics and Finance (M.Young@massey.ac.nz).

Closing date: 14 July 2017
Reference number: A170-17CA
