Senior Secretary

University of Cambridge - Department of Haematology

Applications are invited for a Temporary Cover/Maternity Cover Secretary post to provide an overall administrative and secretarial service within the office of Professor Tony Green, Head of Department of Haematology and Director of the Cambridge Stem Cell Institute. The role is based within the Department of Haematology on the Cambridge Biomedical Campus.

The role holder will provide support to the Head of Department's Executive Assistant in delivering outstanding administrative support to the Professor, with duties including diary management, travel arrangements, providing support for conference organisation, preparing meeting agendas and minutes, general office administration (photocopying, filing, mail processing etc), and working to ensure the Head of Department receives seamless and efficient secretarial support in all of his duties.

The successful candidate will be educated to A level standard or equivalent experience with a recognised secretarial qualification to at least RSA II level or equivalent. Significant experience in administration/secretarial roles at an appropriate level is essential, as are excellent organisational skills, a good eye for detail, a flexible working approach, and the ability to cope well under pressure.
