The Opportunity

This is an outstanding opportunity to take a strategic leadership role in the future development of University College Cork. The Deputy President and Registrar will play a key role in the management of the University and will oversee the academic life of students from undergraduate through to graduate studies.

The Role

The Deputy President and Registrar will be responsible to the President for the University’s academic affairs, and deputise for the President as needed in other areas.  The role will have a strategic focus on all aspects of academic programmes and services.

The Candidate

The appointee will have a significant and successful track record of leadership, management, teaching and research at a senior level in a university.

The appointee will be required to have a proven capacity for devising and implementing imaginative solutions to the challenges of university leadership and administration, be highly self-motivated, with excellent management and interpersonal skills, and be able to work as part of a team and prioritise a heavy workload.

The appointee will have shown impressive ability to inspire, innovate and influence across a range of university stakeholders, and must exhibit capacity to ensure achievement of strategic academic objectives. Excellent communication skills must accompany profound and highly adept leadership strengths, and the capability to work across international borders, building relationships and influencing at the highest level in government, business and cultural sectors.
