HEFCW is the Lead Beneficiary for the European Social Funded (ESF) programme GO Wales: Achieve through Work Experience (www.gowales.co.uk). We are now seeking a Project Manager to join our small, established project management team.

The programme is delivered by the universities in Wales, and within the framework of ESF regulations you will be monitoring performance of a number of the delivery teams against programme indicators, budgets profiles and quality expectations. You will be expected to prepare for and lead progress meetings with the delivery teams. Other duties include writing monitoring reports, promotional literature, including case studies and guidelines, and compilation of financial claims to the Welsh European Funding Office (WEFO).

We are seeking an individual with a broad range of skills, including the ability to communicate clearly both orally and in writing, strong numeracy skills, problem solving and analytical skills and IT skills, including Excel. The ability to work on your own initiative and to balance the competing requirements of a complex project with multiple delivery partners is also key. The ideal candidate will have an eye for detail and at the same time be able to see the big picture. You will be a team player, who is able to develop and maintain good working relationships with delivery staff in designated universities in order to achieve the programme’s aims. Experience of project management and monitoring of externally funded initiatives, ideally ESF funded projects, is desirable.
