The appointment will be on UCL Grade 7. The salary range will be £34,056 to £41,163 per annum, inclusive of London Allowance.

Applications are invited for a new research associate post to work on the development of a cellular prosthesis for the treatment of advanced macular degeneration. The successful applicant will carry out a wide range of duties including the maintenance, genetic manipulation and directed differentiation of pluripotent human stem cells. The new post holder will work as part of a multidisciplinary research team led by Professor Pete Coffey and Professor Lyndon da Cruz.

The position is funded for a period of 3 years in the first instance, with work based at the UCL Institute of Ophthalmology in London.

The successful applicant will hold a Ph.D. in cell biology or a related discipline. A good working knowledge of cell culture and cell / molecular biology techniques is essential.
