University Teacher in International Politics/Security Studies

Contract Type: Fixed-term for 10 months (1.9.17 – 30.6.18)

Salary: Grade 8 £39,324 to £46,924 per annum, with potential to progress to £52,793.

Summary:

With a ranking of third in the UK in the 2014 Research Excellence Framework by GPA measures, and high student satisfaction rates in the National Student Survey, the Department of Politics is one of the most vibrant and successful centres for teaching and research in the UK. The Department is now seeking to appoint to a fixed-term University Teacher position to deliver teaching in the areas of international politics and security studies.

You will be responsible for delivering and assessing modules at undergraduate and postgraduate levels, as outlined in the About the Job documentation. Duties also include teaching and supervising postgraduate work at Masters level and contributing to the management and administration of the Department. You will hold or be close to completing a PhD in a relevant discipline (or have equivalent experience/qualifications). It is essential that you have proven teaching ability and experience, and the expertise necessary to contribute to the delivery of our curriculum to the highest standards of excellence.

This post is fixed-term for 10 months, with a start date of 1st September 2017.
