Research Contracts Specialist

University of Oxford - Research Services (Science Area Team)

We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join the Research Services Science Area team in our central Oxford office. You will play a key role in the delivery of high quality, professional support for our scientists in the mathematical, physical and life sciences and pre-clinical departments of the University of Oxford. Most of our work involves preparing (using templates as starting points) and negotiating contracts which enable our scientists to undertake world class research.

We are seeking someone who has experience of working with contracts, and providing advice after assessing relevant risks, who takes pride in driving multiple projects through to completion in a timely manner, and is able to manage a large and varied workload.  Previous experience of working in an academic environment would be an advantage, but not essential.

You will be educated to degree level, well-organised and able to work effectively under pressure in this challenging but rewarding role. Good interpersonal and communication skills are crucial.

Although this post is fixed-term, the right candidate will gain experience of an important function of the wider University research effort and be well-prepared for subsequent roles; many of our current staff have made similar transitions.

If you are interested, we would encourage you to contact Lisa Driver Davidson, email: for an informal discussion about this post. Further particulars, including details of how to apply, can be obtained from the document below.

Please upload a CV and supporting statement as part of your online application.

Only applications received by no later than 12.00 noon on Monday 21 August 2017 can be considered. Interviews are anticipated to be held in the week commencing 11 September 2017.
