Research Fellow in Numerical Modelling of Bubble Clouds for Applications in Dentistry

Salary: Starting salary £29,301 a year, in a range up to £38,183 a year, with potential progression to £40,523 a year

Hours: Full-time Contract duration: 36 months

A Research Fellow position is available from 1st August 2017 to support an EPSRC project entitled “Maximising Cavitation to Clean Dental Implants”, working in the field of Numerical Modelling of Bubble Clouds for Applications in Dentistry.

The successful candidate will be involved in developing numerical capabilities for the simulation of the dynamics of a bubble cloud. Applicants must have a PhD in Applied Mathematics, Engineering, or related discipline. Successful applicants should have demonstrated strong research capabilities in computational fluid dynamics. Prior knowledge and experience of the following areas will be advantageous for the position:

  • Interactions of Bubbles,
  • Programming experience,
  • Excellent record of top journal publications, and
  • Fluid and Structure Interaction using Commercial Software such as ABAQUS .
