Human Testing Technician

University of Edinburgh - College of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences - Psychology

We are looking to recruit two full-time human testing technician posts in the School of Philosophy Psychology and Language Sciences.

This is an exciting opportunity for ambitious individuals to join the Edinburgh-based strand of an international research team which includes researchers in and Germany working on a new ESRC Open Research Area funded project (funded jointly by ESRC and DFG).

This project aims to train executive function and metacognition in children from low socioeconomic backgrounds.  The purpose of this project is to generate concrete educational instruments and contribute to acting against the ever-increasing socioeconomic disparities by improving opportunities for educational equality. The post-holders will work under the direction of Dr Nicolas Chevalier and will be responsible for the day-to-day collection of behavioural and eye-tracking data with child participants for the Edinburgh-based research strand of the project.    Applications are invited from those with previous experience of human testing, especially with children, in a research environment.

These are full-time posts, 35 hours, available from 3 January 2018 for 6 months.

Salary: £21,843- £25,298 per annum.

Closing date: 5pm (GMT) 1st September 2017.

Informal enquiries should be addressed to Dr Nicolas Chevalier (Nicolas.chevalier@ed.ac.uk)
