Lecturer – Live Events Production

Backstage Academy

Responsible for: Teaching your specialist areas within the course, recruiting and co-ordinating industry guests for seminars, training and master-classes.

Main Functions of the Post:

  • To teach and co-ordinate the teaching of the Live Event Production
  • To develop and enhance the curriculum and assessment regime
  • To develop Industry links and partnerships
  • To enhance the student experience and ensure satisfaction.

Main Duties

  1. To teach on the FdA and BA Live Events Production course, and to help co-ordinate other teaching, industry based seminars and master classes.
  2. Work to the agreed budget and resources, including liaising with existing industry partners, and to recommend new partners where appropriate.
  3. To work with the Course Administrator to ensure that student attendance targets and module hand in deadlines are met.
  4. To grade student work and act as internal moderator 2nd marker .
  5. Ensure all necessary grades and feedback are submitted to the Course Administrator for processing exam boards .
  6. Contribute to quality management – adhering to the validating University policies & procedures.
  7. Attend all necessary course and exam boards as required.
  8. To liaise with the Course Leader re any course modifications as required.
  9. To liaise with the Management as necessary re logistics and planning issues.
  10. To recommend to the course leader any course content updates as required.
  11. Contribute to master class program, and use your own contacts to add value to the content and delivery of the programme.
  12. To undertake regular group and individual tutorials.
  13. To give Pastoral support to students.
  14. To ensure all relevant Health & Safety policies are adhered to.
  15. To keep up to date with current industry practices, procedures, and technologies.
  16. To work in partnership with University of Bolton’s colleagues in order to meet the objectives of the Off-Campus Division.
  17. To contribute to and assist in appropriate recruitment, admissions and induction activities.
  18. To carry out personal and professional development to enhance subject authority and to contribute to the Academy’s’s reputation for academic and professional excellence.
  19. To liaise with relevant departments on logistics and planning issues
  20. To be flexible in the role and undertake relevant academic and operational duties as assigned by the management team.
