The Department of Chemistry is looking for a Research Facilitator to promote and support funding and fellowship applications. Reporting to the Senior Research Facilitator, you will also provide support on major grant applications.

Your responsibilities will include all aspects of grant submissions from advising applicants on the policies and practices of individual sponsors, providing advice on proposal initiation, particularly in respect of the non-science sections and ensuring that applications are complete. Acting as the coordinator for the preparation and submission of research funding applications, you will keep up-to-date with funding opportunities from a wide range of sponsors, ensuring they are advertised internally.

You will deliver presentations and workshops within the Department, running training workshops on aspects of research funding proposals, in collaboration with colleagues from the University’s Research Services Office.

Educated to post doctorate level in a science subject, with a good understanding of an academic research environment, you will have the ability to collate and prepare quantitative and narrative summaries of data.

You will have excellent written and oral communication skills and an ability to collaborate and build relationships with a wide range of people including academics, postdoctoral researchers and other University departments.

The post will be based in the Department of Chemistry, South Parks Road, Oxford.

This role is offered as a part-time position 0.8 FTE 30 hours per week and therefore we will consider applications from those looking for flexible working opportunities for 4 days a week or reduced hours across 5 days.

This is a fixed-term post maternity cover for up to 12 months.
