Hourly Paid Lecturer - Chemistry

The Faculty of Computing Engineering and Science, University of South Wales seeks to appoint an hourly-paid lecturer to assist with teaching and assessment on our RSC accredited BSc/MSci Chemistry degree programme. The degree is based in the subject area of Chemistry and Pharmaceutical Science, which has a strong reputation for student support and skills training.

Applicants should be suitably qualified, either with or working towards a PhD in Chemistry. Undergraduate teaching experience is desirable, but not essential, as long as suitable communication/teaching skills can be evidenced.

The successful candidate, working alongside a well established team, will primarily deliver practicals in the areas of inorganic and physical chemistry. They will be cognisant of H&S aspects of working in chemistry teaching laboratories and be able to mark submitted work and provide meaningful student feedback to expected deadlines. In addition they will be expected to support our students in all aspects of their learning, e.g., through use of our virtual learning environment, and engage fully with the school and students when it comes to administration of their teaching.

Payment will be via an Hourly Paid Lecturing contract and teaching is expected to commence the beginning of October.
