Grade 10: £52,793 - £61,179 with a discretionary range to £66,836 p.a. a salary of up to £80,000 p.a. may be available for suitably experienced candidates

The Blavatnik School of Government is looking to appoint a Director of External Relations to drive forward the School’s relationships with external partners to deliver joint programmes. The School is seeking an experienced senior leader to oversee the work of the alumni relations, communications, and events teams and successfully project the School to the wider world. The Director will identify and secure new opportunities for the School to partner with organisations who share our desire to improve government. S/he will develop and take forward an integrated and coherent external relations strategy for the School. The post holder will be a member of the School’s Senior Management Team. The post holder will oversee a team of nine staff, and will have line management responsibility for the work and development of four staff members.

The successful candidate is likely to have held a senior role entailing assiduous relationship management in an organisation with a global outlook. S/he will be motivated by making things happen and be a great listener, who can readily understand the interests and motives of others. S/he will be committed to effective team-working and be committed to getting the best from colleagues as well as her/himself; and will hold a good first degree from a research-intensive university.
