Salary in the range of £34,956 – £40,253 per annum.

National Centre for Motorsport Engineering

The University is pleased to announce that the Centre of Advanced Performance Engineering is entering into an exciting phase of its development with its move into the National Centre for Motorsport Engineering (NCME) from September 2017. The £13.5 million build is well on the way and will house laboratories for Mechanical, Electrical and Advanced Performance Engineering as well as being the home to the Keating Supercar. Exciting employment opportunities are therefore now available as we make this transition into the new National Centre which has a ground breaking vision that will alter the way that Engineering courses are delivered.

NCME has set out its journey in being established through the formation of three areas of expertise subjects to further consultation, these being;

  • Vehicle Engineering – Analysis of race vehicles and vehicle systems
  • Structures – Design, development and manufacture of new and existing vehicles
  • Engine Management & Data Acquisition – Engine development and track side

These role provide opportunities for the right candidates to be involved in this revolutionary concept of programme delivery and as such we are currently seeking to appoint high potential candidates to lead and contribute to the development and delivery of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes on the field of Motorsport Engineering.

At the University of Bolton, we place a strong emphasis on relevant industry experience and therefore would be especially keen to hear from candidates who are able to demonstrate an excellent understanding of this subject gained from working within a motorsport race team.

To be eligible for this exciting opportunity, you must hold a good honours degree in Engineering.  Alternatively, you may possess a good honours degree in a related subject together with a postgraduate qualification specialising in Engineering.    

Please note that although teaching experience would be advantageous this is not essential.  Full support and training with be provided for candidates who are able to demonstrate strong relevant industry experience.
