The School of Visual and Performing Arts wishes to appoint a Part-time (0.2 FTE) Fixed Term Research Cover Lecturer in Fine Art to start October 2017.

Fine Art at De Montfort University has an excellent reputation and consistently good student satisfaction results. It is part of the School of Visual and Performing Arts, which brings together visual arts, performance arts and arts management courses, offering undergraduate and postgraduate study that encourages a cutting-edge approach to contemporary practice together with strong academic critical enquiry and analysis. Fine Art at DMU offers students a broad education in contemporary practice, as well as the ability to specialise in one or more areas of study, including: lens-based art, painting, sculpture, installation, digital media, printmaking, and drawing.

Teaching and practice takes place in our excellent new facilities in the Art and Design Centre, with students having access to dedicated studio space throughout the course.

The successful candidate will have experience of teaching in Higher Education and be able to demonstrate a significant body of Fine Art expertise. They will contribute to teaching on the BA Programme and MA programmes. They will have experience of creative engagment with drawing and print-making practices and processes emergent digital technologies.
