Lecturer in Business Discourse

The Department seeks to appoint a Lecturer in Business Discourse.

You will have a PhD and relevant research and teaching experience in Business Discourse and/or closely related areas. You will join a large group of internationally renowned linguists that includes specialists in Professional and Intercultural Communication, as well as many other areas, including: Discourse Studies, Corpus Linguistics, English Language study, Forensic Linguistics, Sociolinguistics, Cognitive Linguistics, Psycholinguistics, Literacy Research and Second Language Teaching, Learning and Assessment. You will benefit from world-class expertise in Lancaster University’s Management School.

You will pursue research and publications at a level appropriate for a strong submission to the next Research Excellence Framework and will be expected to supervise undergraduate and postgraduate students. You will contribute to the development of new modules and programmes in Business/Professional Communication, and particularly a new BA programme in this area, which will be run in collaboration with Lancaster’s Management School.

This is a full time indefinite post beginning 1 January 2018.
