Research Administrator - Psychological Medicine Research

University of Oxford - Department of Psychiatry

Grade 5: £24,565 - £29,301 with a discretionary range to £32,004 p.a. (pro rata for part-time)

Following a recent successful recruitment the Psychological Medicine Research group is looking for an additional research administrator to join our successful multidisciplinary team. We will consider applicants with a variety of career aspirations including those interested in a career in clinical research, research management or project management as well as in administration. This post is full-time, however we would consider a part-time appointment (minimum of 0.5 FTE, 18.25 hours/week) with a commensurate adjustment in the responsibilities and duties on a pro rata basis.

You will be based in the Department of Psychiatry at the Warneford Hospital and will spend time at the John Radcliffe and Churchill hospitals in Oxford.

This post is for a fixed-term (funded to 31 March 2020).

This is an opportunity to be directly involved in pioneering research which aims to improve the psychological care of patients with medical problems. The research group is part of the internationally recognised Oxford Psychological Medicine Centre, led by Professor Michael Sharpe and which links to the psychology and psychiatry clinical services in the Oxford University Hospitals. Our current projects include a large multicentre clinical trial, epidemiological research, and study of implementation of a new clinical service.

The post holder will play a key role in our team, working closely with senior researchers and clinicians and being the first point of contact for our collaborators. Applicants should have excellent communication skills, good attention to detail and proven organisational skills. Some knowledge of research will be helpful.

You will be required to upload a covering letter/supporting statement and a CV as part of your application.

The closing date for this post is 12.00 midday on Monday 21 August 2017. Interviews will be held on Thursday 31 August 2017.
