R&D Software Developer - Geometrical Algorithms

The successful applicant will be responsible for designing, implementing and maintaining geometrical algorithms which operate on 2D and 3D meshes. This development is to support the Victory line of Technology Computer-Aided Design (TCAD) software products from Silvaco. The target technical area includes simulation of physical process steps used to generate semiconductor devices and production of high-quality meshes for accurate and robust numerical simulation of their physical properties. The development will be performed in close collaboration with the Silvaco groups in Europe and the USA. As a key member of a small team, you will be involved with the full spectrum of the software life-cycle.


Must have:

  • MSc or PhD in computer-science or related discipline, or equivalent experience
  • C++ development experience, including object oriented design and generic programming
  • Background in developing algorithms based on computational geometry
  • Working knowledge of areas of mathematics including linear algebra and numerical analysis
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills, including fluency in English

Desirable additional skills:

  • Practical experience of writing Delaunay-based meshing algorithms - Familiarity with the STL and boost library, and C++11/14
  • In-depth knowledge of fundamental data-structures and algorithms - Experience of developing multithreaded software
  • Knowledge of development on Linux systems
