The Hinton group has an international reputation for the study of functional genomics and pathogenesis of Salmonella bacteria. We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Bioinformatician/Computational Biologist to join a Wellcome Trust-funded project to identify the virulence determinants that are responsible for the significant mortality caused by non-typhoidal Salmonella in Africa. You will lead the analysis of the accessory genomes of 10,000 Salmonella isolates that are currently being generated (10k-salmonella-genomes.com) and you will be responsible for our existing RNA-seq analysis pipelines. You will have played a key role in a leading-edge research project involving computational biology, will have excellent communication skills and be interested in working in a team environment. You should have a PhD in Biological Sciences, Molecular Microbiology or Computational Biology, and relevant experience of Functional Genomics, the computational analysis of biological data or a related subject.
