Postdoctoral Research Associate

We are seeking a Postdoctoral Research Associate for an exciting new project which seeks to use the UK’s academic network (SUPERJANET) to interconnect multiple virtual environments. The post is funded in support of our recently EPSRC-funded research project entitled ‘Context Aware network architectures for Sending Multiple Senses (CASMS)’. The vision is to establish a unique facility for investigating how we can engineer future network architectures to support future multi-sensory applications in a distributed manner over the Internet. You should have (or be about to obtain) a PhD in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or a relevant augmented/virtual reality and/or networking related discipline.

You should have significant experience in developing distributed virtual environments, be able to demonstrate your research quality and potential with a willingness to work with a team of researchers to develop this exciting new research area. You will work in an exciting interdisciplinary environment in the Advanced Networks Research Group led by Professor Alan Marshall, the Virtual Engineering Centre (VEC), with academic colleagues from University College London and from a range of industrial partners including the BBC, Virtalis, and Jaguar Land Rover.
