Research Assistant

University of Edinburgh - Psychology

College of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences

A full time research assistant post is available in the School of Philosophy Psychology and Language Sciences available from November 2017.

This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious researcher to work on a new Leverhulme Trust funded research project investigating predictive processing during interaction in language and music.

This project uses carefully controlled experimental research to understand how speakers and musicians coordinate their actions accurately during linguistic and musical interaction. The post-holder will work under the direction of Professor Martin Pickering and Dr Lauren Hadley and will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the project. Applications are invited from those with a PhD in the appropriate areas of the psychology of language, the psychology of music, or a related discipline.

Informal enquiries should be addressed to Professor Martin Pickering (martin.pickering@ed.ac.uk) or Dr Lauren Hadley (lauren.hadley@ed.ac.uk).

This is a full-time (35 hours per week) and fixed term post for 22 months.

Closing date: 5pm (GMT) on Monday 28th August 2017
