Senior Lecturer – Adult Intensive/Critical Care (12 Month Fixed Term)

The College of Nursing, Midwifery and Healthcare is seeking an enthusiastic and highly motivated individual, with clinical expertise in adult intensive care/care critical/high dependency care (and ideally with physical assessment skills), to join our established team of academics. You will deliver across our highly successful portfolio of post-qualifying intensive care, critical care, deteriorating patient and assessment courses and study days and will also contribute our pre-registration courses. Our courses are commissioned by Trusts in both London and the Thames Valley.

The successful candidate will be passionate about teaching and will develop and deliver innovative, interactive learning material that is highly relevant, evidence-based and current. This will be vital in order to maintain the high quality of learning and teaching associated with the College and to meet the needs of our service partners, ensuring the NHS workforce have the right skills, values and behaviours to provide a safe, effective and excellent patient experience.

The successful candidate will have:

  • Current registration as an adult nurse on the Nursing and Midwifery Council register
  • A Master’s degree (or equivalent) or be working towards this
  • A strong clinical background in intensive /critical/high dependency care (experience in physical assessment would be beneficial)
  • Ideally completed an intensive/critical/high dependency care/physical assessment post-qualifying course

You will demonstrate excellent interpersonal and communication skills in order to work collaboratively with students, other academics, our Trust/Healthcare partners and with our support and technical staff. The successful candidate will deliver to students across both our London and Reading campuses.
