Project Accountant - UIS

University of Cambridge - Finance Division

We are looking to appoint an effective, highly skilled and experienced Management Accountant for a six to nine month period to complete a finance project within the University Information Services (UIS).

The UIS is coming under increasing pressure to make its financial model more transparent and is looking to recruit an experienced Management Accountant to complete this finance project.

As Project Accountant your responsibilities will include; (i) Developing the use of the Cambridge University Finance System coding structure to allow reporting by service, (ii) developing a costing/pricing model for UIS services, (iii) Reviewing and, where possible, simplifying UIS income streams and (iv) defining core services and their appropriate funding sources.

You will be based at The Roger Needham Building but report into the Finance Manager for Non School Institutions, although you will also work closely with the Operations Director and the Finance Manager at the UIS.

The role holder should have a professional accounting qualification (e.g. CIMA/ACCA/ACA) and must possess highly effective interpersonal skills, with proven ability to present and explain complex financial information in a clear way.

Fixed-term: The funds for this post are available for 9 months in the first instance.
