Professor/Senior Clinician/Clinician in Veterinary Anaesthesia

Job Purpose

To provide academic, corporate and strategic leadership in the Small Animal and Equine Hospital referral services by further developing the School’s expertise in Veterinary Anaesthesia; to conduct and lead high quality clinical research and research-led education; to play a key role in driving the strategic expansion of the School academic developments, to deliver an integrated bench to bedside service for referral patients, in partnership with other divisions and institutes within the Garscube campus and Gilmorehill campus. In summary the appointee will be expected to provide academic, corporate and strategic leadership in clinical service, clinical research, teaching and administration.

Standard Terms & Conditions

Salary will be on the University’s Research and Teaching Grade, Professor from £61,179, level 8/9, £41,709 - £48,327/ £49,772 - £55,998 per annum.

The successful applicant will be eligible to join the Universities' Superannuation Scheme. Further information regarding the scheme is available from the Superannuation Officer, who is also prepared to advise on questions relating to the transfer of Superannuation benefits.

All research and related activities, including grants, donations, clinical trials, contract research, consultancy and commercialisation are required to be managed through the University’s relevant processes (e.g. contractual and financial), in accordance with the University Court’s policies.

Probation Period

The successful applicant of this post will be enrolled onto the University’s Early Career Development Programme (ECDP). This will provide for you as an early career academic staff member to be developed and supported over a specified timeframe to facilitate the advancement of your academic career.
