EPSRC Impact Acceleration Account Project Manager

University of Glasgow - College of Science and Engineering Administration

College of Science & Engineering

This post is full time and fixed term until 31 March 2020

The University of Glasgow has been at the forefront in inspiring people in Scotland and the world, and delivering world-leading teaching and learning, research, discovery and impact since 1451. Over 25,000 students attend the University and we have 7,000 members of staff, and an annual research income of more than £181 million.

We are seeking a Project Manager for our £1.69m Impact Acceleration Account (IAA) funded by the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council. This is an exciting role based within our College of Science and Engineering, which delivers a broad range of interdisciplinary ground-breaking research, providing an opportunity for the candidate to identify research outputs and drive and support them to create impact.

This new position offers an ideal development opportunity for someone who may be working in a research, project management or marketing role. An academic background is not essential; we are keen to identify a dynamic candidate who can set up collaborations of researchers and partner organisations to co-develop new technologies, processes and other outputs to increase the global impact of the University. The candidate should possess a strong industrial network and have experience of assembling and supporting collaborations.

The focus of the role is to deliver increased impact from EPSRC funded research providing the candidate with scope to create and deliver innovative mechanisms to increase the levels of Enterprise and Entrepreneurship, Partnerships, Researcher Mobility, and Capacity Building leading to Culture Change. You will also contribute to the ongoing development of the IAA strategy in collaboration with the IAA Management Group and work with Colleagues in Research and Business Development roles across the University.
