Senior Research Associate in Systematic Reviews

This post offers an excellent opportunity for an experienced systematic reviewer to join the research team in the Surgical Innovation theme of the new National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) Bristol Biomedical Research Centre (BRC) within the School of Social and Community Medicine, University of Bristol.

The post-holder will lead a systematic review of stents and angioplasty for patients with peripheral artery disease in the upper or lower leg. These are complex interventions, and so will require a detailed description and classification of the interventions. The post-holder will also contribute as second reviewer in a review of interventions to prevent surgical site infections. The overall objective of the two systematic reviews is to identify promising packages of care to evaluate in future randomised controlled trials.

The post holder will have responsibility for the planning, conduct and writing up the systematic review in collaboration with Prof. Nicky Welton, Prof. Jane Blazeby, and Prof. Robert Hinchliffe. The successful applicant will be a capable, hard-working, motivated person, able to take responsibility and work on their own initiative as well as part of a team. The post-holder will possess excellent writing and communication skills.

Funding is available for 12 months 100%FTE. We will consider part-time work within the funding period (until 31st March 2019). The post holder will be based in Canynge Hall, Bristol.
