Planning Officer (Internal Reporting)

We are seeking to appoint a Planning Officer for an interesting, varied and responsible role in the Internal Reporting Team within the University’s Planning & Strategy Office. Working alongside two other Planning Officers and reporting to the Strategic Planning Manager, you will prepare and analyse data to support high level decision making within the University.

This will include reporting on sector benchmarking data (League Tables, Student Surveys), internal data for monitoring purposes (Equality & Diversity, Teaching & Learning), student numbers and forecasting data for planning processes. This is a great opportunity for someone with experience of analysing, reporting on and presenting data to join a team focused on innovative and creative approaches to providing high quality and relevant management information for key strategic decision making.

You will have:

  • Excellent numeracy, together with a high level of competency and confidence in accurately handling and manipulating large volume data.
  • High level of proficiency in Microsoft Excel and an interest in developing skills in data visualisation software (e.g. Tableau) and SQL.
  • Motivation and ability to improve or design new reporting processes, to increase efficiency and develop the service for our data users.
  • Ability to plan and prioritise to ensure that tasks are completed to deadlines.

The role is available on a part-time (0.8FTE) or full-time basis.
