Faculty Registrar

University of Westminster - Faculty of Social Science & Humanities - Academic Registrar’s Department

Fixed-term to 31 July 2018
Central London

The University of Westminster is seeking to appoint a dynamic and highly experienced academic administration manager to the role of Faculty Registrar.

The appointment is on a fixed-term basis until 31 July 2018, and is available from 18 September 2017. It would provide an ideal secondment opportunity for an experienced Registry administrator seeking their first move into a leadership role.

Reporting to the Academic Registrar, you will be responsible for the leadership and management of the academic administration functions supporting staff and students of the University’s Faculty of Social Science and Humanities. This will include providing high level strategic, business and operational planning support to the Dean of Faculty, including student number planning, budget planning, and workforce planning. You will also be responsible, through the management of a number of Faculty Registry teams, for the delivery of all Faculty Registry services to staff and students, including enrolment, module registration and assessment processing, and the provision of administrative support to senior academic staff and the Faculty infrastructure (committees, resources etc.). As part of a team of Faculty registrars, you will also have cross-University responsibilities, for example business ownership of the University’s assessment processes, and will ensure consistency of Registry processes and services across the University.

Your work will impact significantly on the academic life of the Faculty and the University, and you will instinctively put the student experience at the heart of all that you do.

You will have substantial experience in a management role in a UK higher education environment, ideally in an academic administration / Registry context, with particular experience of process review and driving cultural change across an organisation. You will be highly motivated and credible, with clarity of thought and outstanding written and oral communication skills. You will have experience of leading and motivating a diverse team.
