Lecturer in Fashion Design (Pattern Cutting)

De Montfort University is looking to appoint a Lecturer in Fashion Pattern Cutting within the School of Design – a School that brings together the key subjects of Fashion, Textiles, Fashion Buying, Product, Furniture, Crafts and Interior Design. The School incorporates undergraduate, postgraduate and PhD study with excellence in teaching, research and design consultancy.

We require a creative pattern cutter to support the Fashion Design subject area, at both undergraduate and post graduate levels. The BA(Hons) Fashion Design programme is an established course with a recognised profile within the UK fashion education sector. The programme is renowned for working with leading companies, brands and has an enviable track record of competition success. You will join a team of specialists and further enhance the growing reputation of the course and the School.

With a degree and a wealth of appropriate industry experience you will have an excellent understanding of the subject area, a thorough knowledge of the pattern cutting and design.

Experience of teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate level is advantageous.

You will be expected to make a substantial contribution to the academic and reputational development of the Fashion Design subject area and to engage in scholarly research.
