University Teacher in Physics

Fixed-term for 4 years

The Department of Physics requires a suitably qualified University Teacher to support academic staff in the Department in the preparation, delivery and assessment of Undergraduate, specifically in the area of Astrophysics and Cosmology. This is a 4-year full-time post starting as soon as possible after 1 October 2017

The post holder will be required to teach undergraduate and postgraduate students and carry out the associated assessment and examining processes using a suitable range of methods and techniques. Experience with practical astronomy is required. They will also be responsible for the design and content of specific areas of teaching and learning within the Department's undergraduate and postgraduate programmes.

They will have a PhD in Physics with a topic specifically related to Astrophysics, Cosmology or related areas of Theoretical Physics. They will also have experience of delivering lectures and practice sessions in Astrophysics and/or Cosmology.
