Year 4 & MB/PhD Administrator

Applications are invited for the post of Year 4 & MB/PhD Administrator within the Education Division of the School of Clinical Medicine, based on the Cambridge Biomedical Campus.  The role holder will join the Division's Curriculum Team which is responsible for the administration of the University's medical courses (the clinical years).

The post holder will be the first point of contact for any matters regarding Year 4 (first clinical year) of the medical course and will be responsible for timetabling the Year 4 cohort of students, for ensuring the successful delivery of teaching and other events related to Year 4 including the 2-week Introductory Course, and for all other administrative matters relating to the Year 4 of the course. They will also provide administrative support for all aspects of the MB/PhD Programme which enables a small cohort of medical students to complete a research PhD during their medical training (making their course 9 years in total). This administration ranges from coordinating the programme and its finances through to organising the annual MB/PhD Symposium. They will work closely with students, clinicians and other team members to ensure Year 4 runs smoothly.

The ideal candidate will be educated to A Level standard or equivalent and requires previous administration experience, preferably in a Higher Education environment. They will possess strong numeracy skills, excellent organisational skills and attention to detail, strong prioritisation skills with an adaptable and flexible work ethic, and excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with individuals at all levels of seniority and to deal sensitively with students and staff.  Previous experience of working within the University of Cambridge and/or the NHS is desirable.
