Job Summary and Purpose

The Student Recruitment and Admissions Office (part of Academic Registry and Student Services) is seeking to appoint two (2) Admissions Officers to work within a team of Admissions Officers responsible for ensuring the operational effectiveness of the day-to-day activities associated with the University’s full-time and part-time undergraduate and postgraduate admissions processes. Including these posts, the team of Admissions Officers currently comprises four Admissions Officers and an Admissions Officer (Statistics). These roles will support both the postgraduate and undergraduate admissions team and will involve line management of some members of these teams. Over the period of this appointment that may change as the outcomes of the University’s Streamlined Student Recruitment Programme are implemented.

This is an excellent opportunity for a committed and dynamic individual with strong administration, communication and interpersonal skills to work within an area of strategic importance at a leading research-led University with an international reputation for excellence. Candidates must have a flexible attitude to work, administrative and imaginative flair, and the desire to pursue a career in HE management. A good first degree or equivalent is essential, as is knowledge of admissions processes or equivalent processes from within an HEI. The post-holders will deliver a high level of customer service, involving contact with a broad range of stakeholders at all levels including applicants, parents, schools and colleges, agents, University staff in departments, colleges and professional services, and outside institutions and agencies. Success in the roles requires an individual who is equally adept at working in teams and independently and who is committed to meeting agreed targets.
