Senior Technician - Instrumentation

Working within the Faculty of Science, Engineering and Computing (SEC), you will provide practical and operational support to SEC laboratories, initially mainly in Instrumentation laboratories, but potentially in any area of the Faculty. You’ll support learning, research and teaching activities working closely with both staff and students.

You’ll contribute to the learning experience of students by providing guidance on the use of resources, and promoting an excellent understanding of laboratory practices and techniques.

You will ensure that laboratories, and the facilities within them are maintained in good order in accordance with health & safety legislation, and manufacturer’s maintenance instructions.

The Person

You will need to be a self-motivated, enthusiastic individual, ready to contribute to the day to day operation and maintenance of the Faculty’s laboratories and to work with students, academics and clients. You’ll be qualified to higher-degree level in an analytical science-related subject. A strong working knowledge and experience of LC-MS, GC-MS, GC & GC-Headspace, LC, GC-MS, and ICP-MS instrumentation is required.
