The School building is listed and was constructed in a dramatic and modern design behind retained façade of the original Addenbrooke's Hospital- all of which present particular challenges to the facilities team. The School has office accommodation, three lecture theatres, ten seminar and meeting rooms, a common room providing a social and meeting space as well as student project and syndicate rooms, business information centre and a computer lab. The School occupies three floors of the neighbouring Keynes house along with five houses in Trumpington Street.

We are looking for a self-motivated individual to join our facilities team as Custodian. The role holder will provide an efficient and effective service to the School staff, students and guests. This will include meeting room set up, office moves, cleaning and security. Further responsibilities include sorting and distributing mail, assisting on minor building maintenance, supervision of contracted cleaning staff.

Ideally the successful candidate will have worked in similar role, have basic IT literacy and IT problem solving skills although training will be given in the use of computer systems used. They will have technical aptitude, the ability to carry out minor maintenance tasks with the ability to work with minimal supervision. Good communication and time keeping skills are essential. Being highly motivated, conscientious and honest is prerequisite for this role.

The post holder will be required to work on a rotating shift pattern that includes morning, evening and Saturdays depending on the needs of the School.

The funding for this post has been approved for four and a half years in the first instance.
