Alumni Project Officer

Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine

The Fundraising team is seeking an Alumni Project Officer to work on a prestigious Alumni Relations Project

The Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine (LSTM) is an internationally recognised centre of excellence for research in tropical diseases. Through the creation of effective links with governments, organisations and institutions and by responding to the health needs of communities, LSTM aims to promote improved health, particularly for people of the less developed/resource poorest countries in the tropics and sub-tropics.

We are currently seeking an Alumni Project Officer, who will play a key role in the success of the Alumni Relations Project. This post will be the link between LSTM and our alumni and will play a crucial role in creating, organising and updating the alumni data from various sources, internal and external to LSTM. In coordination with the Director of Fundraising, the jobholder will develop a social media campaign to connect alumni with LSTM. The APO will also work closely with the Fundraising Officer to create a consistent coding system to support data analysis and segmentation, as well as manage the alumni email to provide appropriate responses.

Given the nature of the role, the successful candidate must have previous experience of working in a professional administrative role, preferably within the Higher Education or Third Sector and possess strong IT and analytical skills to manage and manipulate data. As the role deals with a variety of stakeholders, you must have excellent relationship management skills with a sensitive approach in dealing with people from diverse backgrounds. Your communication and project management skills, and ability to use your initiative, are vital to the role as you will be coordinating for various projects with stakeholders, taking minutes in meetings and working to tight timelines. Having a project management qualification will be advantageous. To be successful in the Alumni Project Officer role, you must be qualified to at least GCSE level or equivalent, possess good knowledge of using social media platforms, and an understanding of the new General Data Protection Regulations.

Closing Date: 20th August
