Internal Communications Coordinator

Salary: £26,829 - £29,301 pa with potential to progress to £32,004 pa by annual increments on achieving designated skills and experience.

Grade: UH6

FTE: Full time, 37 hours per week (1.0 fte)

Duration of Contract: Permanent

Main duties & responsibilities

The University has a total staff body of around 2,900, and 24,600 students, and this role will see you working with colleagues to deliver effective communications to all of them. You will be implementing the University’s internal communications strategy, as well as raising awareness of the University’s business objectives and successes among our internal audiences. You will create and manage content across a range of internal channels, including digital screens, poster sites and printed literature.

Skills and experience needed

You should have well-developed marketing and communications skills, and excellent written communication and presentation skills are a must. As you will be working with stakeholders from across the University, you will need a strong track record of establishing effective relationships with colleagues, stakeholders and clients. A desire to try and test new ideas and concepts with creative flair will stand you in good stead, as will a client-orientated approach to service.

Qualifications required

You should have a degree with significant marketing content, or equivalent. Ideally you will hold a CIM or other marketing professional qualification, and an understanding of the higher education sector would be beneficial.
