Technician- Soft Materials

Location: City South Campus

We are looking to employ an experienced fashion and textiles technician to support our growing team. In the role you will be working closely to assist students in realising their potential with both Fashion and textiles.

This role will be evening based from 13.00 to 21.00 weekdays

With industry experience we are looking for someone who carry out the following. 

  • Be organised to maintain and supervise workshop areas in the evening.
  • Preparation of workshops, ready for the next working day.
  • Comfortable communicating with students and liaising with technicians
  • Manage a small team of student helpers
  • A desire to learn new equipment and skills.

You will need excellent team working /communication skills and be able to work professionally with a range stakeholder across the university.

You will also be required to have an understanding of health and safety and its legislation and procedures.
