Postdoctoral Training Fellow: Target Validation & DNA Damage Repair Team

Professor Tutt is the Head of the Breast Cancer Research Division at the ICR and has interests in therapy development for BRCA1/2 associated and “triple negative” (TN) forms of breast cancer. His laboratory at King’s College London (KCL) has contributed highly to the field (Nature Medicine, PMID 27775704;  Cancer Discovery, PMID: 25770156, etc.) and will be bringing target validation and DNA damage response projects to his new lab at ICR. This lab will work in close partnership with that of Professor Chris Lord and with teams in Professor Raj Chopra’s Division of Cancer Therapeutics.

A Postdoctoral Training Fellow position is available to start from 1st September 2017 to drive forward high-level research on DNA damage repair biology and cancer target validation. The majority of the projects focus on developing novel therapeutic approaches to cancer and identifying biomarkers and relevant targets in breast cancer underlying the biology of the disease.

You will be responsible for the design and the implementation of a project aimed at establishing new therapeutical approaches to TN and BRCA1/2 associated forms of breast cancer, based on DNA damage response and target validation studies.

You must possess a PhD in biology, genetics or other associated subjects and have a strong track record in biomedical research as demonstrated by high-impact, first author publications. Considerable experience in cell and molecular biology as well as DNA repair is essential, together with an understanding of DNA Damage Repair biology.

The appointment will be on a Fixed Term Contract for three years, with a starting salary of £30,410 - £43,463 p.a. inclusive based on postdoctoral experience.
