As a Career Consultant in the Career & Employability Services team you will be responsible for delivering a range of specialist career & employability education, information, advice and guidance services that develop and enhance the employability of University of Bradford students and graduates.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • providing a range of individual career IAG services to students and graduates to assist with self-evaluation, opportunity and occupational exploration, job seeking skills development and career planning;
  • contributing to the delivery of employability in the curriculum through designing and delivering teaching sessions, supporting programme curriculum planning and design, and advising programme teams on student and graduate employability matters;
  • developing professional practice which delivers new ways of positively engaging students, graduates and academic staff in employability activities;   
  • contributing to the organisation and delivery of career and employability events e.g. recruitment fairs, employability workshops, open days;
  • maintaining and developing relationships with employers and opportunity providers.

The post requires someone with significant experience of delivering and developing career & employability education, information, advice and guidance services to students and graduates, preferably within a higher education context. Excellent customer service, organisational  skills and a positive attitude to team working will also be required. Occasional evening or weekend working to deliver student open days for example may be required and providing cover on a rota basis for office late opening until 6:00 pm will be required.
