Research Governance and Peer Review Administrator

The Faculty of Medicine at Imperial College London is one of the leading Medical Faculties in Europe and is part of Imperial College Academic Health Sciences Centre which also includes Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust. The Faculty has close working relationships with a number of NHS Trusts in North West London, who provide support for clinical teaching and research.

The Joint Research Compliance Office (JRCO) is responsible for the processing and management of a large portfolio of clinical research in relation to regulation, national framework compliance and NHS Trust R&D approval. The Office also provides advice and support to researchers for the development and management of their research projects. 

As Research Governance and Peer Review Administrator you will support the Peer Review Committee and the Peer Review processes across the AHSC to ensure that they run smoothly and efficiently, and will also be involved with general administration within the JRCO.  You will be expected to make judgements and decisions on peer review levels when giving advice to researchers, and triaging applications in accordance with Peer Review Guidelines.  Part of the role will include the coordination and oversight of the JRCO research database DOCUMAS.   Reporting to the Research Governance Manager and Head of Regulatory Compliance, you will have a role in developing, overseeing and promoting the peer review system and contribute to the research governance systems of the AHSC.  

You will have prior experience of working in an administrative role and demonstrable analysis and problem solving skills.  The ability to prioritise conflicting tasks and meet operational deadlines is essential, together with proven communication skills and experience of database systems.

This post is full time and fixed term for 12 months and will be primarily based at the St Mary’s Campus in Paddington with travel to other sites as required.
