The SGC (Structural Genomics Consortium) is seeking a Research Assistant – Cell Culture Facility Coordinator with extensive experience in maintaining eukaryotic cell cultures to manage the SGC cell culture facilities, train staff and contribute to the expression scale up pipelines for insect and mammalian cells.

In your role as Research Assistant - Cell Culture Facility Coordinator, you will maintain mammalian and insect cells in shaker-based suspension cultures, expand virus stocks and produce recombinant proteins by transduction, infection or transient transfection. You will oversee maintenance of the infrastructure for eukaryotic expression, including shared responsibility for the cell culture laboratory, instrumentation, supplies and consumables.

You will hold a BSc degree or equivalent experience in molecular or cell biology, biochemistry or chemistry and have the ability to manage processes and implement new practices for improvement of the facility.

You will coordinate the workflow for the cell culture facility, therefore good communication skills are essential.
