Student Recruitment Officer (Events)

Manchester Metropolitan University - Student and Academic Services (SAS)

Student and Academic Services (SAS) provides a wide-range of services and support to students and academic staff. Our student services span the complete student lifecycle from enquiry, through enrolment and on-course support, to graduation and beyond. Our academic services include direct support for academic staff in many aspects of their work, and portfolio support spanning the course lifecycle, from planning and approval, through to curriculum management and programme review. Our ambition is that the services we provide should be sector-leading, adapted to meet the needs of our University, and sufficiently flexible to respond rapidly to changing requirements.

The Recruitment and Admissions (R&A) department provides a seamless service to potential students from first enquiry through to enrolment for all modes and levels of courses. We are responsible for delivering a range of support services to enquirers, applicants, staff, and external stakeholders.

We operate a high volume quality recruitment and admissions service, annually communicating with over 100,000 university enquirers and applicants through our recruitment campaigns. We manage 40,000 visitors visiting our campuses and deliver over 800 events off campus. We are also responsible for all aspects of offer making and offer communications with over 80,000 applications per year. Quality information, advice, and guidance is at the heart of what we deliver, enabling students to make informed choices about going to Higher Education and Manchester Metropolitan University.

Manchester Metropolitan University is one of the largest campus-based universities in the UK with a total student population of over 36,000. Our claim is to be the University for world-class professionals with an emphasis on vocational education and employability.

We have recently reorganised the Recruitment and Admissions Department to closer align to the University objectives. R&A is a large centralised department with over 65 members of staff split in three admissions teams for Undergraduate, Postgraduate, and International applications, and two recruitment teams split between Events & Outreach and Course Enquiries. We also have a Recruitment and Admissions Data Insight Team and a CRM Project Team.
